A national dish of North Macedonia, Tavče Gravče features tender white beans baked in a clay pot with paprika and onions for deep flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 300 g white beans
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper

Method:

  1. Boil beans until soft, then drain.
  2. Sauté onion and pepper in oil, add paprika.
  3. Mix with beans and bake 30–40 minutes at 180°C.
  4. Serve hot with bread or sausages.
