

Gulaš
A slow-cooked stew of tender beef, onions, paprika, and potatoes — a cross between soup and stew, rich and deeply comforting.
Ingredients:
- 500 g beef chunks
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1 carrot, sliced
- 1 potato, diced
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 2 tbsp oil
- 500 ml water or beef stock
- Salt and pepper
Method:
- Sauté onions in oil until golden.
- Add beef; brown on all sides.
- Stir in paprika, carrot, and potato.
- Add stock, cover, and simmer 1.5–2 hours until beef is tender.
- Adjust seasoning and serve with bread or mashed potatoes.
