A slow-cooked stew of tender beef, onions, paprika, and potatoes — a cross between soup and stew, rich and deeply comforting.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g beef chunks
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 1 potato, diced
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 500 ml water or beef stock
  • Salt and pepper

Method:

  1. Sauté onions in oil until golden.
  2. Add beef; brown on all sides.
  3. Stir in paprika, carrot, and potato.
  4. Add stock, cover, and simmer 1.5–2 hours until beef is tender.
  5. Adjust seasoning and serve with bread or mashed potatoes.
