

Burek
Burek is a flaky pastry pie filled with meat, cheese, or spinach. Popular across the Balkans, itβs baked golden brown and enjoyed as breakfast, lunch, or a late-night snack. Always served with yogurt.
Ingredients (4β6 servings):
- 500 g phyllo dough
- 300 g minced beef/lamb
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 tbsp oil or butter
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt & pepper
Method:
- Cook onion + meat with spices, let cool.
- Layer phyllo sheets, brush with oil, add filling, and roll.
- Shape into a spiral in baking tray.
- Bake at 180Β°C for 35β40 min until golden.
- Serve with yogurt.
